Collaborators of the PROEM Network lead an online family school project to improve parenting strategies

Researchers from the University of Almeria (UAL), collaborators of the PROEMA Network, have launched the SIVAE project (Sistema Inteligente Virtual de Apoyo Emocional en la parentalidad), which aims to apply technology for intervention in parents. To this end, they organize a free online family school aimed at fathers, mothers and legal guardians of children and adolescents. The intervention program is carried out over the Internet for 6 weeks, through a self-applied program in which the parent sets the pace of the intervention.

This program, entitled “The Forest of Parenting“, aims to improve emotional regulation skills and psychological flexibility in families. In this sense, the aim is that the participants in the study acquire skills to react and redirect their behavior in an adaptive way when they find themselves in situations that generate some discomfort, especially in relation to the upbringing of their children.

The project is currently in the recruitment phase. Those interested in participating can register for the online family school through the following link: https://cutt.ly/ShHJoZG and obtain more information by e-mail: jfc397@ual.es

The research has the participation of members of the University of Almeria (Professor of Psychology Inmaculada Gómez, the researcher of the Department of Psychology Juan Miguel Flujas and the researcher of the Department of Computer Engineering Antonio Jesús Fernández); from the Hospital Universitario Torrecárdenas de Almería (Mª de los Ángeles Vázquez, Evelyn Annemarie Huber, Manuel Martín, Julio Ramos, Mª del Mar Rodríguez and Alma Martínez de Salazar); and from the Fundación Pública Andaluza para la Investigación Biosanitaria de Andalucía Oriental (FIBAO).
