Red interdisciplinar para la PROmoción de la salud y bienestar Emocional en las personas jóvenes

This edition, which will take place on May 11, focuses on lifestyles, equality, mental health and addictions of youth in the post-pandemic period.

4/05/2022.- The projects DAREMOS, PROCARE, Big Hug and Digitas, led by members of the PROEM Network, are part of the program of the II Conference Proyecto Hombre Granada, to be held on May 11.

This second edition will reflect on lifestyles, equality, mental health and addictions of young people in this post-pandemic stage. In this context, several researchers from the PROEM Network and the University of Jaén (UJA) will participate in a round table that will address the issue of mental health and addictions, in which they will present the keys of the projects to promote the mental health of young people, DAREMOS, PROCARE, Big Hug and Digitas.

Specifically, Manuel Vivas, coordinator of the PROCARE and DAREMOS initiatives, will speak about the results obtained in the interventions carried out within the framework of these two projects for the promotion of emotional health in vulnerable adolescents. Pilar Martínez, coordinator of Big Hug, will explain how artificial intelligence can be a useful tool in the prevention of emotional problems in adolescents. Likewise, Juan Pablo Molina, coordinator of DIGITAS, and Álvaro Muela, anthropologist and collaborator of the PROEM Network, will delve into the role of digital tools in favor of the prevention of mental health in young people with the example of DIGITAS.

Together with them, the following will participate as speakers at the round table: the psychologist and researcher of the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC); Ismael Muela; and the psychologist of the Department of Methodology of Behavioral Sciences of the University of Granada, Irene Tauste.

The objective of the II Conference Proyecto Hombre Granada is to deepen, from the hand of illustrious personalities in the field of study of adolescence and youth, in the resulting scenario after two years of global pandemic and how this sector of the population has experienced, integrated and adapted to the difficulties and extraordinary situations they have had to face. In the same way, they will try to take a look at their immediate future and the prospects foreseen for a key group in the development of society. To this end, in addition to the round table, four presentations will be given by experts in the field of youth addictions and different workshops will be offered focusing on topics such as sexuality and youth, risk behaviors in young and adolescent population, and alcohol consumption in the ‘Instagram generation’.

The conference will take place at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Granada in the morning and afternoon. Registration for them is free through the website of the NGO Proyecto Hombre Granada and UGR students can validate their participation for 3 volunteer credits.
