Researchers from the University of Jaén were invited and presented the keys to these four initiatives for the promotion of mental health in young people.
23/05/2022.- The DAREMOS, PROCARE, Big Hug and Digitas projects, led by University of Jaén (UJA) professors Luis Joaquín García, Artujo Montejo and Lourdes Espinosa, were part of the program of the II Jornadas Proyecto Hombre Granada, held on May 11 at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Granada (UGR).
The second edition of this event served to reflect on lifestyles, equality, mental health and addictions of youth in this post-pandemic stage. In this context, several UJA researchers participated in various workshops in which they presented the keys to projects to promote the mental health of young people, DAREMOS, PROCARE, Big Hug and Digitas.
Specifically, Manuel Vivas, researcher of the PROCARE and DAREMOS initiatives, developed the results obtained in the interventions carried out in the framework of these two projects for the promotion of emotional health in vulnerable adolescents. Pilar Martínez, researcher at Big Hug, explained how artificial intelligence can become a useful tool in the prevention of emotional problems in adolescents. Likewise, UJA researcher Juan Pablo Molina, and anthropologist Álvaro Muela, delved into DIGITAS and the role of digital tools in favor of the prevention of mental health in young people. Other researchers from these teams were also present, such as Eva Mª Parras and David Jiménez, as well as the psychologist Irene Tauste, from the Department of Methodology of Behavioral Sciences at the UGR.
The II Jornadas Proyecto Hombre Granada, led by distinguished personalities in the field of the study of adolescence and youth, delved into the resulting scenario after two years of the global pandemic and how this sector of the population has experienced, integrated and adapted to the difficulties and extraordinary situations they have had to face.
