As they did in the DAREMOS and PROCARE projects, these two entities will continue their collaboration with the University of Jaén and the PROEM Network.
09/02/2023.- The Spanish Association for Mutual Help against Social Phobia and Anxiety Disorders (AMTAES) and the Confederation of Organizations of Psychopedagogy and Guidance of Spain (COPOE) are integrated into the External Advisory Council of the initiative ‘PROmocionAnDo the health and EMOtional well-being of adolescents in the educational sector, health and society’ (PROADEMO).
Both AMTAES and COPOE, partners of the PROEM Network since its launch in 2018, will fulfill a similar role to that carried out with their consultancy as members of the External Advisory Board of the DAREMOS and PROCARE initiatives. Two initiatives that are also focused on the promotion of health and emotional well-being in young people under the leadership of the professor of the University of Jaén (UJA), Luis Joaquín García.
PROADEMO aims to develop a methodology that promotes the active participation of adolescents and social agents in the development of guidelines for national and European policies, as well as the drafting of documents in child-friendly language.
The objectives of this initiative revolve around the design and development of a digital training package, aimed at school staff, youth and health workers, so that they can improve their skills and knowledge to provide mental health services to adolescents at risk of developing emotional problems as a consequence of the pandemic.
In this sense, AMTAES and COPOE join other institutions that have also confirmed their incorporation to PROADEMO’s External Advisory Board, such as the Spanish Youth Institute (INJUVE), attached to the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, the Integral Health Group of the State Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Trans, Bisexuals, Intersexuals and more (FELGTBI+) or the Asturian Association.
PROADEMO is a project (PDC2022-133401-I00/AEI/10.13039/501100011033) funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the State Research Agency and the European Union, through the “Next Generation EU” funds within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
COPOE, whose president is Ana Cobos, is made up of 22 organizations of educational guidance professionals from all over Spain. Its main function is to work for the welfare of children and young people from within the educational system, complementing all those factors that influence school and academic development.
AMTAES, whose president is Enrique Vargas, is a non-profit association. It is made up of people affected by social phobia and anxiety disorders and their families and relatives, who are committed to providing mutual support, both virtually through social networks and through face-to-face meetings of the Mutual Help Groups.
