Red interdisciplinar para la PROmoción de la salud y bienestar Emocional en las personas jóvenes

Luis Joaquín García presents the PROADEMO initiative to the Directorate General for Childhood, Family and Birth Promotion of the Community of Madrid.

Telematic meeting between the professor of the University of Jaén and main responsible of this project for the promotion of health and emotional wellbeing of young people, and the General Director Silvia Valmaña.

6/03/2023.- Luis Joaquín García, professor at the University of Jaén (UJA), presented the initiative ‘PROmocionAnDo la salud y el bienestar EMOcional de los adolescentes en el sector educativo, sanitario y la sociedad’ (PROADEMO) to Silvia Valmaña, Director General de Infancia, Familia y Fomento de la Natalidad de la Comunidad de Madrid (Director General of Childhood, Family and Birth Promotion of the Community of Madrid).

In their telematic meeting, Luis Joaquín García presented the keys to this project, which aims to develop a methodology that promotes the active participation of adolescents and social agents in the development of national and European policies, as well as the drafting of documents in a child-friendly language.

In this way, Luis Joaquín García elaborated on the objectives of PROADEMO focused on the design and development of a digital training package, aimed at school personnel, health workers and youth sector workers, so that they can improve their skills and knowledge to establish and provide mental health services to adolescents at risk of developing emotional problems as a consequence of the pandemic.

PROADEMO (PDC2022-133401-I00/AEI/10.13039/501100011033) is a project funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the State Research Agency and the European Union through the “Next Generation EU” funds within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

It also has an External Advisory Board formed by the Spanish Youth Institute (INJUVE) of the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, the Spanish Association for Mutual Help against Social Phobia and Anxiety Disorders (AMTAES), the Confederación de Organizaciones de Psicopedagogía y Orientación de España (COPOE), the Federación Estatal de Lesbianas, Gais, Trans, Bisexuales, Intersexuales y más (FELGTBI+) and the Asociación asturiana para la atención y el cuidado de la infancia (ASACI).
