DAREMOS and PROCARE projects, presented in the informative program ‘Campus’ of Radio Torredonjimeno

08/03/2023.- The professor of the University of Jaén (UJA), Luis Joaquín García was interviewed last Monday, March 7, in the informative program ‘Campus’ of Radio Torredonjimeno, where he presented the results of the initiatives for the promotion of health and emotional well-being in adolescents, DAREMOS and PROCARE.

In his speech, Luis Joaquín García valued the impact of DAREMOS, a pioneering worldwide interdisciplinary initiative (Psychology, Epigenetics, Corpus Linguistics and Big Data) focused on the early identification of adolescents at high risk of developing emotional problems. Likewise, he indicated the follow-up of PROCARE, the first selective prevention program aimed at young people between 12 and 18 years of age at risk of suffering emotional problems at a stage conditioned by psychosocial difficulties after COVID-19. “The results of the intervention and the booster session carried out indicate the reduction of emotional problems, improved subjective quality of life and greater regulation of emotions among the young participants, and among their families even 12 months after the intervention,” said Luis Joaquín García.

The DAREMOS initiative is a nationwide project involving researchers from different departments of the UJA and the Institute of Biomedical Research of Malaga (IBIMA), in collaboration with Yotta Code, a spin off of the UJA.

The DAREMOS initiative has been co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Ministry of Economy and Knowledge of the Andalusian Regional Government and involves researchers from different departments of the UJA and the Institute of Biomedical Research of Malaga (IBIMA), in collaboration with Yotta Code, spin off of the UJA.

The PROCARE project (PID 2019-111138RB-I00/AEI/10.13039/501100011033) has been funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and has the participation of professionals from the Department of Psychology at UJA, Rovira i Virgili University, Miguel Hernández University and the University of Miami (USA).
