It joins INJUVE, CJE, ERYICA, COPOE, AMTAES, Asaci Asturias or the Integral Health section of the FELGTBI+, after the meeting between the representative of the AAPJ, Antonio Lara, and the Professor of Psychology at the University of Jaén (UJA), Luis Joaquín García.
26/05/2023.- The Andalusian Association of Youth Professionals (AAPJ) joins the External Advisory Board of the initiative ‘PROmoTIng adolescent health and EMOtional well-being in education, health and society’ (PROADEMO)..
Luis Joaquín García, professor at the University of Jaén (UJA) and head of PROADEMO, met with Antonio Lara, president of the Provincial Association of Youth Professionals ‘Dinamia’ in Jaén and vice president of the AAPJ, to study the incorporation of the Andalusian group to this project in defense of the promotion of emotional well-being in young people.
Luis Joaquín García explained the characteristics of the PROADEMO project, which aims to develop a methodology that promotes the active participation of adolescents and social agents in the development of guidelines for national and European policies, as well as the drafting of documents in a child-friendly language.
In turn, Luis Joaquín García told him that the specific objectives of this initiative are “the design and development of a complete digital training package, aimed at workers in the fields of education, youth and health, with the aim of enhancing their skills and knowledge to establish and provide quality mental health services to adolescents at risk of developing emotional problems as a result of the pandemic and post-pandemic”.
For his part, Antonio Lara was interested in the role of the technicians in the youth field within the PROADEMO initiative and explained the work they carry out in their field for the benefit of young people. In addition, he valued positively the work done by the PROEM Network and UJA researchers for the promotion of health and emotional well-being of adolescents through this initiative, and other previous ones such as DAREMOS, PROCARE, DIGITAS or PRECOM.
At the end of the meeting, Antonio Lara confirmed the integration of the AAPJ as a new member of PROADEMO’s External Advisory Council. In this way, it joins other entities that are already part of PROADEMO such as the Spanish Youth Institute (INJUVE), attached to the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, the Spanish Youth Council (CJE), the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency (ERYICA), the Asociación Española de Ayuda Mutua contra Fobia Social y Trastornos de Ansiedad (AMTAES), the Confederación de Organizaciones de Psicopedagogía y Orientación de España (COPOE), the Asociación Asturiana para la Atención y el cuidado de la infancia (Asaci Asturias) and the Comprehensive Health section of the FELGTBI+.
