The Spanish Youth Council (CJE) is part of the second phase of the preparation of PROADEMO materials and the PROEMO Network roadmap.

University of Jaén researcher Manuel Vivas met with the CJE’s Health, Rural Youth and Research member, Pau Roig Mas, to include his contribution to these two initiatives to promote the health and emotional well-being of young people.

12/01/2024.- The Spanish Youth Council (CJE) is part of the second phase of the development of materials for the project ‘PROmocionAnDo la salud y el bienestar EMOcional de los adolescentes en el sector educativo, sanitario y la sociedad’ (PROADEMO) and the roadmap of the Network for the PROmocion de la salud y el bienestar EMOcional de los adolescentes (PROEMO).

The researcher of the University of Jaén (UJA), Manuel Vivas, and the CJE’s member for Health, Rural Youth and Research, Pau Roig Mas, met telematically to include the contributions of this entity as a member of the External Advisory Council of these two projects, led by the UJA.

Pau Roig Mas emphasized the establishment of collaborative networks between professionals, entities and groups such as university student associations and class delegates. He also pointed out the need to define emotional concepts in order to elaborate a kind of collaborative emotional encyclopedia within the framework of the design and development of the digital training package and the set of practical tools, aimed at school personnel, health personnel and youth workers, as well as for the preparation of the emotional help kit for adolescents. Along the same lines, he stressed the commitment to the format of new social networks such as Tik Tok, which redirects to a website, although without ruling out the physical format.

PROADEMO (PDC2022-133401-I00/AEI/10.13039/501100011033) is funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the State Research Agency and the European Union, through the “Next Generation EU” funds within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. Its objective is to improve the skills of professionals and young people themselves to contribute to providing quality mental health services to adolescents at risk of developing emotional problems.

As for the shortcomings detected by the CJE, Pau Roig Mas valued “that the health and education systems are overwhelmed, and that, in turn, the overpopulation of some areas and the depopulation of rural areas generate specific needs and challenges”. Regarding the priorities to be taken into account for the PROEMO Network’s roadmap, he explained the need to focus on education and emotional management projects. Both these and the previous contributions in the PROADEMO materials will be taken into account by the work team in the document in progress for both projects.

PROEMO is a research network (RED2022-134247-T) funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the State Research Agency, through the State Program to promote scientific-technical research and its transfer, within the framework of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2021-2023.

The Spanish Youth Council is part of the External Advisory Board of PROADEMO and the PROEMO Network, together with entities such as the Spanish Youth Institute (INJUVE), attached to the Ministry of Children and Youth, the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency (ERYICA), the Princess of Girona Foundation (FPdGi), the Integral Health group of the FELGTBI+, the Confederation of Organizations of Psychopedagogy and Guidance of Spain (COPOE), the Spanish Association of Mutual Help against Social Phobia and Anxiety Disorders (AMTAES) and the Andalusian Association of Youth Technicians (AATJ) and the Asturian Association for the attention and care of children (Asaci).
