Red interdisciplinar para la PROmoción de la salud y bienestar Emocional en las personas jóvenes

Luis Joaquín García will be part of the faculty of the Expert Course ‘Youth Technician – Society, health and emotional well-being’ of the University of Castilla La Mancha.

The UJA professor and main responsible for the PROEMO Network will give training on the materials generated by PROADEMO, as a reference program in the promotion of mental health and emotional well-being of young people.

29/8/2024.- The Professor of Psychology at the University of Jaén (UJA) and head of the PROEMO Network, Luis Joaquín García, will be part of the faculty of the online Expert Course and Advanced Training Course ‘Youth Technician – Society, health and emotional well-being’ of the University of Castilla La Mancha.

His participation is the result of the synergies of collaboration with UCLM researchers, Aurora Galán and Natalia Simón, co-directors of this expert course and collaborators in the co-creation of the materials generated by the UJA in the project ‘PROmocionAnDo the health and EMOtional well-being of adolescents in the educational sector, The transfer of knowledge through PROADEMO to various youth professionals, health professionals and educators is one of the objectives of this project. Recently the co-directors of the course, Luis Joaquín García himself and the UJA researcher, Jesús Sánchez, held a meeting to establish the schedule to follow in the incorporation of Luis Joaquín to the cast of teachers of the course to facilitate the acquisition of competences on health and emotional well-being of young people by youth personnel and other disciplines.

PROADEMO is a project PDC2022-133401-I00 funded by MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 (Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, the State Research Agency and the European Union through the “Next Generation EU” funds within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan).

This interdisciplinary course is organized by the Faculty of Labor Relations and Human Resources of Albacete and consists of four modules that will address key aspects of health and emotional well-being in the young population; the problem of addictions in adolescents and youth; youth, disability and emotional well-being; and the design of preventive programs and promotion of youth health.

“It is very important to have professionals trained and updated in the organization and management of health and community services aimed at young people that respond to their interests and needs and professionalize the work of Youth Technician, and specifically in the field of health and emotional well-being,” explains Aurora Galán.

This course is part of the UCLM’s commitment to the training of youth technicians and is included in the second edition of the University Course of Advanced Training in Youth Technician. Specifically, it is a training block that aims to improve theoretical and practical knowledge and available resources, as well as skills and abilities to design, plan, manage, evaluate and coordinate real projects or in the design phase and / or youth policies aimed at young people.

The pre-registration deadline for both courses is August 31, although it is expected to be extended until September 10. The training will start on September 16 and will run until March 12, 2025.
