Team "Advances in Intervention and Epidemiology with Children, Adolescents and Families".
The research team “Avances en Intervención y Epidemiología con Infancia, Adolescencia y Familias” (IAF), is part of the research groups of the Andalusian Research Plan (PAIDI) attached to the University of Almeria. In IAF we address the study of psychological problems in childhood and adolescence, as well as the influence of the family environment and intervention in the relationship between all of them, especially focused on the study of risk factors and salutogenic factors for disorders in childhood and adolescence, including the field of education and emotional regulation, and advances in intervention from contextual therapies and from ICTs.
The IAF group belongs to the thematic area “Humanities” of the Andalusian Research Plan; and is being subsidized by the University of Almeria Research Plan.
LINES OF RESEARCH
- Epidemiology of psychological disorders in childhood and analysis of different risk and protective factors (salutogenic).
- Study of parental educational styles in different psychoeducational problems in childhood and adolescence.
- Analysis of intervention programs with parents: Application of third generation therapies.
- Analysis of the role of language and cognition in complex psychological processes (Theory of Mind, emergence of symbolic relationships and analogies, verbal regulation, self-control).
- Intelligence and emotional competences in psychoeducational problems.
- Virtual reality in coping with distress and emotional well-being.
