PROEMA Network unveils available screening protocols and evidence-based interventions in the field of anxiety and depression for Spanish adolescents

17/12/2020.- The Network for the Promotion of Mental Health and Emotional Well-being in Adolescents (Red PROEMA) provides information on screening protocols and evidence-based interventions available in the field of anxiety and depression for Spanish adolescents.

One of the objectives of the PROEMA Network is to coordinate the complex process of searching for information on the availability of this type of resources in the field of child and adolescent mental health in Spain. In this way, parents, counselors, legislators, clinicians and mental health experts will be able to have in a single document all the information on evidence-based protocols to know if an adolescent may have an emotional problem and what treatments work.

In this sense, collaborators and members of the Network such as the professor of the University of Jaén, José Antonio Muela, the professor of the University Miguel Hernández, José Antonio Piqueras, and the professor of the UNED, Miguel Ángel Carrasco have coordinated the elaboration of a document that synthesizes the main sources and tools for consultation, which distinguishes between screening protocols and science-based interventions.

This document, of about 40 pages, locates and classifies different instruments for the evaluation of emotional problems in adolescents; and gathers databases, catalogs, web portals, publishers and institutions of interest for psychology. The document is available for free consultation and download on the PROEM Network website: www.redproem.es
