30/11/2023.- The Spanish Youth Institute (INJUVE) is collaborating in the second phase of the development of the materials of the project ‘PROmocionAnDo la salud y el bienestar EMOcional de los adolescentes en el sector educativo, sanitario y la sociedad’ (PROADEMO) and the roadmap of the Network for the PROmocion de la salud y el bienestar EMOcional de los adolescentes (PROEMO).

The researcher of the University of Jaén (UJA), Jesús Sánchez, and the Head of Service of Interministerial Programs of INJUVE, Victoria Rodríguez met in person a few days ago to analyze and share the contributions of INJUVE itself as a member of the External Advisory Council of these two projects, led by UJA.

First, Victoria Rodriguez presented some suggestions for the design and development of a digital training package and a set of practical tools, aimed at school personnel, health personnel and youth workers, as well as for the development of an emotional support kit for adolescents. The objective of PROADEMO is to improve the skills of professionals and young people themselves to contribute to providing quality mental health services to adolescents at risk of developing emotional problems.

PROADEMO (PDC2022-133401-I00/AEI/10.13039/501100011033) is funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the State Research Agency and the European Union, through the “Next Generation EU” funds within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

Next, Victoria Rodríguez discussed the shortcomings detected by INJUVE regarding the current situation of the health and emotional wellbeing of young people and the priorities to be taken into account, within the framework of the roadmap that the PROEMO Network intends to draw up. In this regard, he mainly focused on low wages and the difficulty in accessing housing as the most important gaps; and highlighted the challenges included in the integral health and quality of life axis of the Youth Strategy 2030 as the challenges to be faced in the coming years.

PROEMO is a research network (RED2022-134247-T) funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the State Research Agency, through the State Program to promote scientific-technical research and its transfer, within the framework of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2021-2023.

The INJUVE, attached to the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, is part of the External Advisory Council of PROADEMO and the PROEMO Network, together with entities such as the Spanish Youth Council (CJE), the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency (ERYICA), the Princess of Girona Foundation (FPdGi), the Integral Health group of the FELGTBI+, the Confederación de Organizaciones de Psicopedagogía y Orientación de España (COPOE), the Asociación Española de Ayuda Mutua contra Fobia Social y Trastornos de Ansiedad (Amtaes), the Asociación Andaluza de Técnicos de Juventud (AATJ) and the Asociación Asturiana para la atención y el cuidado de la infancia (Asaci).
