Project PROCARE advances in the implementation of the selective prevention program for adolescents at risk of suffering emotional problems.

Yesterday, members of the PROCARE project met telematically to take stock of the progress of the design of a selective preventive intervention, with the aim of assessing adolescents at risk of suffering emotional problems.

First of all, Professor Luis Joaquín García, from the University of Jaén, presented the results of his meeting with Dr. Jill Ehrenreich-May, professor at the University of Miami. He also explained the training planned for the teams of therapists from the Universidad Miguel Hernández, Universitat Rovira y Virgili and Universidad de Jaén.

Subsequently, the technical coordinators of the project updated the status of the sample recruitment phase and announced the finalization of the informative documentation. At the same time, the planned dissemination and disclosure campaign of the project focused on legislators, social and governmental agents and influencers through social networks.

Finally, the additional modules to address risk factors were presented. With the participation of professors José Antonio Piqueras, Fina Canals and Lourdes Espinosa, the duration of the modules was discussed and the need to focus the project on selective prevention was established.

For their part, the members of the External Advisory Council, Enrique Vargas as president of AMTAES, Ana Cobos as president of COPOE, and Victoria Rodríguez as Head of the Interministerial Programs Service of INJUVE, contributed their ideas for dissemination and expressed their full logistical support through the resources available in their respective institutions.

PROCARE is the first free selective prevention program aimed at people at risk of anxiety and depression and will be carried out online nationwide.
